On The Ground
This district is located in west central Montana, and lies just west of Cascade. Great Falls is on the very northern edge of the district. The Missouri River is the eastern boundary, and offers a section of blue ribbon trout stream.
Antelope populations are stable and at the historic average, but the tag numbers are lower than they have been in the past, so bucks are getting some age on them.
Terrain
There is a wide variety of terrain in this district. The eastern portion is mostly farm ground and relatively gentle to rolling topography. The central and west portion is hilly and broken topography with numerous buttes, deep coulees, washes and breaks. This is great spot and stalk country.

Vegetation
The eastern portion of the district is dominated by farm lands of mostly wheat and barley with some dry land alfalfa hay mixed in. The central and western portions are a mix of grasslands with some sage and cactus. There is a fair amount of scattered timbered ridges and breaks covered with mostly pine and fir with some cedars and junipers.
Access
This district is easily accessed with gravel county roads that run through much of the district. The majority of the antelope reside on private land and access to the private land is restricted, but with some time invested permission can be obtained. There are state sections and some BLM sections scattered throughout the district. There are a few Block Management Areas in this district.
Camping and Lodging
Cascade has motels, restaurants and gas stations. Great Falls has numerous motels, gas stations and restaurants, as well as sporting goods stores. Camping is allowed on BLM and state lands. There are campgrounds along the Missouri River.
