Arizona is a top state for hunting trophy-size antelope. Mild winters and good genetics combine to producehigh-scoring bucks, especially in a year when a good amount of moisturehas led to high-quality forage. Hunters may apply for tags in several units.
Drawing an antelope tag in the Grand Canyon state is about as likely as drawing a desert bighorn tag. The odds arebrutal. With only a few permits across the state compared tomany of the other western states, it begs the question: why would someone invest a single dollar into that draw? Ifantelope is your thing, then Arizona is one of your bestchances to break that 80”+ mark and there is always a chance you will get a tag. Every unit can and does produce Boone& Crockett (B&C) bucks—some with more consistencythan others.
Regardless, if you are purchasing the required license for any other species in the state—to not give Arizona antelopea chance would be unfortunate. Tags for archery seasons areeasier to draw than tags for rifle and muzzleloader seasons.
