Wyoming leftover draw hunting license list for 2024

Another chance to go hunting this season

If you don't have a tag for this hunting season, there are a few deer, elk, and antelope licenses available in the 2024 Wyoming leftover draw.

All of the Wyoming leftover licenses for deer, antelope, and elk from the main draw are available through a leftover draw. Keep in mind that several of these licenses are sort of leftover for a reason (wilderness area for nonresidents, extremely poor public land access, private land only, etc.). But with some research and hard work, you could still have a great hunt.

The Wyoming leftover draw application period is open from June 24 to June 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time. Tentative draw results will be available on July 9. Remember that the application period for the leftover draw is only FIVE days long.

Over-the-counter license sales begin on July 17, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. MT. This includes any leftover licenses after the leftover draw and resident general licenses.

I highly suggest you research the Wyoming leftover hunt areas thoroughly before you apply! As mentioned above, many of these hunting areas could have access issues, wilderness issues, and lots of private land. Hunting areas with a ton of private land really isn't a bad thing if you know how to use that to your advantage on the public land surrounding the private (learn more here), but pressure could push animals to private where they are unhuntable unless you get permission.

How does the Wyoming leftover draw work?

You may apply for leftover licenses online here, and remember, the application period is June 24 - June 28. So, it's best to start doing your application research now to decide where to apply.

Also, it is worth mentioning that the Wyoming preference point purchase period is available between July 1 to October 31. So don't forget to purchase your points.
