Arizona, Nebraska, and Montana wildlife officials ask the public for help
Poaching is not limited to a specific state or a specific animal. In fact, at any given time, state wildlife officials are investigating numerous reports of suspicious activity not only in wilderness areas, but, sometimes, even in residential neighborhoods. Here are several cases currently under investigation.
Rewards leading to the conviction of the guilty poacher or poachers are available for each of these cases. Remember that tip lines do work and wildlife officers rely on the public to help them solve these types of wildlife crimes.
Four big game animals were illegally shot and left to rot in Nebraska: a bull elk along Squaw Mound Road in Crawford and a pronghorn and two mule deer does near Hemingford, according to the Scottsbluff Star Herald. Anyone with information should contact the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission at 800-742-7627.
A trophy mule deer buck was found in the Skalkaho drainage on USFS road 1352 in Montana, according to KPAX.com. Please contact 800-847-6668 if you have any information.
Three bull elk were illegally killed in an agriculture field south of I-40 east of Joseph City, Arizona according to a press release from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. The elk were intact and left to waste. Tips for this case (#16-003848) can be phoned in anonymously at 800-352-0700.
