Area 25 is located in western Wyoming, north of Highway 235. This area is known for having high harvest success and large bulls. The terrain here allows hunters to glass from high vantage points.

This area has large herds and a few bulls that score over 150” B&C. Bulls during the beginning of the archery season will be focused on looking for cows. Locate moose by glassing during the archery and rifle seasons.

Area 25 is made up of river bottoms with sagebrush ridge sides and thick conifer forests. Merna Butte and Aspen Ridge are some of the highest points in this area.

This unit consists of Forest Service and ranch lands with good public access. This area is located east of the National Forest Boundary from La Barge Creek to the Hoback Rim, west of Highway 352 and south of the Hoback Rim.

The majority of the area is dominated by pine forests with willow-lined creek bottoms and sagebrush ridge sides.

Hunters can camp on Forest Service land located west of the unit with no permit required. Lodging at multiple motels can be found south of the unit in Big Piney and east of the unit in Pinedale.
