A strong consensus suggests that scouting prior to the season is essential for a successful hunt, as it allows for better understanding of animal pathways and optimal hunting spots. Overall, shared experiences emphasize strategic planning and local knowledge as keys to improving hunting outcomes in this area.
This area is located in southwestern Wyoming, south of Rock Springs. Herd health is great and the quality of animals and chances to harvest a bull are very high. The terrain allows hunters to glass a lot of area from high vantage points. This area produces many Boone and Crockett and Pope and Young bulls every year.
Great numbers of elk are present in this unit and hunters lucky enough to draw a tag will be in for a fun hunt.
