On The Ground
This area consists of mainly BLM land, some National Forest lands and tracts of private lands. Hunters can find good bucks in the low benches and sagebrush draws that are common here. Whitetails are usually found on private land in this area.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region L and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 92, 128, 148, 160, 171.
Deer can hide very well in this area, so glassing and scouting throughout the area will turn up deer and high quality bucks. High sagebrush and deep canyons can hide deer, but it can also offer great terrain to stalk in close for shots.
Terrain
The land in this area consists of rolling hills of BLM land throughout, a small portion of the Shoshone National Forest in the northwest and portions of private ranch lands. Look for mule deer in rocky buttes and some deeper canyons.

Vegetation
Short grass prairie and cedar trees cover the majority of the unit. Whitetails deer can be found in the eastern portions of the unit.
Access
This area typically has great designated public access. Most of the unit has two-track roads that are accessible by any four-wheel-drive vehicle. Winter weather and rain can limit access on dirt roads within the unit.
Camping and Lodging
Hunters can camp remotely on BLM lands or find lodging north of the unit in Lander.
