On The Ground
This unit is south of Casper and near the North Platte River. Since this unit is close to Casper and has a lot of private land, it can be hard to get onto public land. Mule deer and whitetail can usually be found river bottoms and agriculture areas.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region D and tags drawn for this area are valid in: 66, 70, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 88
Mature mule deer and whitetails can be found near the North Platte or the hillsides and bluffs by the river. This area has a lot of agricultural production that gives deer good habitat.
Terrain
Steep bluffs above the North Platte River have some hills, open sagebrush rangelands and creek bottoms.

Vegetation
Grasslands of buffalo, blue grama, sagebrush, yucca and juniper can be found on ridges and hillsides with cottonwood and willows near the creeks. Some stands of ponderosa pine can be seen from dryland crops and irrigated fields in the area.
Access
This is a small unit that can be found near Casper. Natrona County walk in areas have over 90,000 acres in areas 11, 12 and 13. Walk in areas 11 and 13 are also combined with portions of Unit 89. Hunters can have a hard time getting onto public land here, so check with Wyoming Game & Fish Casper Regional office for information.
Camping and Lodging
Alcova/Grey Reef County Park has improved campsites. Casper has RV campgrounds, a lodging and food, as well as a regional medical center and airport and 24/7 gas stations.
