On The Ground
This unit has a lot of private land in the east with the Medicine Bow National Forest found in the west of the area.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region D and tags drawn for this area are valid in: 66, 70, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 88
Terrain
Expect the terrain here to have rolling hills and ranch lands toward the east side of the unit. The National Forest in the west is higher in elevation with wooded ridge lines that big mule deer can typically be found in.

Vegetation
Short grass prairie, cottonwood trees, sage brush flats and irrigated ranch lands cover up most of the unit in the east. Conifer forests with willow lined creeks and pockets of aspen trees take up the western portion of the unit.
Access
Several private land tracts restrict access to the east of the unit. Medicine Bow National Forest in the west of the unit has public access to most land. Roads will have county and National Forest signs.
Camping and Lodging
Most hunters will camp remotely on National Forest land with no permits needed. Lodging is also found north of the unit in Laramie.
