This area is located in the central part of the state, west of Thermopolis. Made up of high plains desert, this area has expansive amounts of BLM and State lands.

This area has good general access and a high success rate for harvest. Good terrain for successful stalking is found throughout the unit. Check out Absaroka Front Habitat Management Area for more potential access.

This area is covered in grassy or desert-like open prairie with large basins, deep creek bottoms and rolling hills that provide good opportunities for stalking. Private ranch and farm lands found throughout the unit can draw antelope from the surrounding prairie.

Public access in this unit is good and provides a network of BLM roads and smaller two-track roads. Gas and oil drilling activity provides access roads in some places, but roads can be rough. Be sure to utilize your GOHUNT maps for land ownership and property boundaries.

The terrain in this area is open land with high desert prairie covered in sagebrush or grasslands. Rocky bluffs and small trees can be found at higher elevations.

Thermopolis is the closest town to the unit and offers many options for lodging, groceries, gas and other amenities. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location. Hunters can camp in remote locations found throughout the unit.
