On The Ground
This area is located in the northwest part of the state, east of Cody. Area 80 is made up of high plains desert and contains expansive amounts of BLM and State lands.
This area provides hunters with excellent general access and a high success rate for harvest with good trophy potential. The terrain here can be good for successful stalking opportunities throughout the area.
Terrain
This unit has a variety of grassy or desert-like open prairie with large basins, rugged creek bottoms and rolling hills. Antelope can be found on National Forest land, private ranches and farm lands.

Vegetation
The terrain in this area is open land with high desert prairie covered in sagebrush or grasslands. Rocky bluffs, cedars and trees can be found at higher elevations into the forest. Irrigated croplands within this area can draw antelope to them.
Access
Public access in this unit is good and includes many County, BLM roads and smaller two-tracks. Gas and oil drilling activity provides access roads in places, but some roads are rough. The area is bordered by the Shoshone National Forest boundary, Wyoming Highway 296 and U.S. Highway 212 on the west, the Montana state line on the north, the Bighorn River on the east and the Shoshone River on the south.
Camping and Lodging
Cody and Powell are the closest towns and offer many options for lodging, groceries, gas and other amenities. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location. Hunters can camp in remote locations throughout the unit.
