On The Ground
Also known as Kyle this area is located near Hanna, Medicine Bow, Rock River and Elk Mountain, Wyoming. This area is in the Southeast region of the state and has a lot of hunting opportunities for antelope. Public land in this unit is checkerboarded and hunters may need to be prepared to travel country in order to find herds.
Carbon County is famous for producing top Boone and Crockett Record book entries for antelope compared to most counties in Wyoming. There is decent public access in this area and hunting pressure in these areas can be high at time.
Terrain
Overall this area is higher in elevation, but the hunting terrain is the typical prairie of Wyoming. In the high desert sagebrush, hunters can find the opportunity to use the rolling hills, dry creeks and shallow valleys to their advantage while stalking antelope. Expect this area to be made up of open ground some tree cover.

Vegetation
A lot of dry desert habitat can be found here. It is typical to find a lot of sagebrush and open land in the lower elevations of the prairie where hunters can typically spot antelope. Higher elevations have a lot of pine forests and aspen runs, where antelope usually don’t go.
Access
Public land access is generally good for antelope here. There is more private land than public in this hunt area. Getting permission to hunt private land after getting a license can be hard.
Camping and Lodging
Hunters can find supplies in Rock River, Wyoming. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location. Hunters can camp in remote locations.
