On The Ground
This large unit is found in North Central Wyoming and lies just southeast of the town of Buffalo. Good numbers of antelope can be found here but public land is minimal and generally heavily pressured. Public land hunters can find success on this unit but generally the best odds, and biggest bucks, will be found on private lands.
Good numbers of antelope are found here but the lack of public hunting opportunities can be a big hurdle for most. Private lands will generally hold the highest odds for success.
Terrain
There are a lot of big sagebrush draws, grassy ridges and valleys here. The Powder River is on the eastern border, where most of the more rugged terrain can be found. Most of the public land in this area is located in the northeastern corner of the unit but some smaller sections can be found scattered throughout the unit.

Vegetation
The tops of the buttes and ridges have light grass, rock and sagebrush that can be seen in all elevations throughout this area. Mixed grasses and prickly pear cactus are also common throughout the unit.
Access
Public access here is very limited. Most of the state and BLM land on the north side can be accessed from Schoonover Road and Sussex Road. Having a GPS with mapping software is recommended.
Camping and Lodging
Buffalo is the closest city to this area and has lodging, gas stations and grocery stores. Camping on state land in Wyoming is not allowed, but hunters can camp on BLM land in a specific location for up to 14 days within any 28-day period. Kaycee, on the south end has a grocery store and a gas station, but no accommodations.
