Area 11 is located in the southeast part of the state, northeast of Wheatland. Made up of high plains desert and scattered patches of timber. This unit is largely composed of private lands but does have scattered parcels of state lands and a small amount of BLM.

With the lack of public access options in this area many hunters will turn to trying to secure private access or hunting through an outiftter.

This unit, like other surrounding units, is made up of a variety of grassy or desert-like open prairie with large basins, creek bottoms and rolling hills that provide opportunities for stalking. Private ranch and farm lands found in this area can draw antelope from the surrounding prairie. Public land hunters can find opportunities on the scattered public land pieces and the various walk-in areas but success can take a lot of work.

Public access in this unit is poor and limited, with private land found throughout. Road access is good and includes state highways, county roads and smaller two-tracks. This area is bordered by U.S. Highway 20 on the north, the Nebraska state line on the east and the North Platte River on the south and west.

The open land of the high desert prairie is covered in sagebrush or grasslands. Rocky bluffs, sagebrush, cedars and small trees are found at higher elevations.

Torrington and Wheatland are the closest towns and offer many options for lodging, groceries, gas and other amenities. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location. Hunters can camp in remote locations.
