Like most states found in the west, Washington offers hunting opportunities for the ever-present whitetail deer. A good population of whitetail can be found in the evergreen state and hunters will also find plenty of opportunities. With a diverse amount of terrain found in Washington, whitetails can be pursued in all types of manners and terrain types. Overall, bucks generally carry a decent trophy quality with the majority of the bigger bucks generally found in agricultural areas and near orchards. Over the counter tags are available for all weapon types, even some during the rut, though the majority of the better tags will be distributed through the draw.

The best dates are reserved for special permits but OTC tags are available for most units and areas
Bonus points are squared as a way to reward long-time applicants
