This small unit is found in east-central Utah along the north side of the town of Green River. This area is primarily comprised of private lands although a few small chunks of BLM and state-owned lands are available to hunt.
This unit is primarily private, but hunters can find a few good areas to hunt with land ownership maps.
Generally speaking the terrain found in this unit is fairly flat with some break in the country found along the Green River and along the northern edge of the unit. The rougher country can provide decent opportunity for stalking with short range weapons.
Other than agricultural crops this area features very little vegetation. The ground is primarily rock with patches of grass and sage. In a few periodic coulees, hunters can find patches of pinyon-juniper which can hold deer during hot midday temps.
Overall this area is mostly made up of private lands although some decent chunks of public land can be found. The best opportunities will generally be found on private but hunters wishing to hunt these areas should secure permission before heading to the area. ATV’s can make driving on some of the unmaintained farm roads easier but is not necessary.
There a handful of modern lodging options for hunters to be found in Green River and primitive camping is permitted on public lands for up to 14 consecutive days. Some minor grocery needs can be found in Green River but hunters will likely need to fill major grocery and sporting goods needs before leaving for the hunt.
