Located to the east of Salt Lake City in the Wasatch Mountains, this unit has some great moose hunting areas. With limited tag numbers and over a month to hunt, it is a hunt of a lifetime for the hunters who draw the tags.

With thick habitat, lower animal numbers, and a lot of private property, moose hunting can be difficult.

The tops of the mountains are steep and rugged and off of the mountain are steep creek drainages. With all the ridges and steep creek drainages, there are a lot of areas for game to hide where they can not be pressured.

Low elevations in this unit have grass and sagebrush with scattered pinyon pines and juniper trees. Middle elevations are covered in oak brush and conifer forests, with sagebrush continuing throughout this elevation as well. The higher elevations have scattered aspen groves with the steep slopes covered in conifer forests.

Much of the unit is private property, a very small part is in the Wasatch National Forest. There is road access on all sides of the unit with well-maintained dirt roads leading to less-maintained four-wheel-drive roads or ATV trails.

Most hunters camp along roads. There are several locations that have good, flat camping locations for travel trailers or tents. There are a couple of designated campgrounds open to the public. Morgan and a couple of other towns spread throughout the unit offer lodging and other amenities.
