Located in the far southwest corner of the state with the southern boundary running east and west along the Nebraska border. The western border runs north to south on the Wyoming border. The terrain is quite broken, with a mixture of pine ridges that give way to grassy meadows. There are numerous small creeks scattered across the unit. The most notable town in the unit is Edgemont located towards the western side of the unit. There’s also the town of Oelrichs which can be found in the eastern side of the unit. The unit has a large amount of public land as well as walk-in ground.
Although this looks like a prime mule deer unit, the majority of the deer in the unit are whitetail.

- Mount Rushmore which is southwest of Rapid City, SD is approximately 30 miles from the northeast corner of this unit
