Located about 30 miles East of the Missouri River, this unit is rather remote with very little services across the bulk of the unit except for a few small townships with the biggest of them being Plankinton and White Lake. A mixture of prairie, swamp, and dryland farming. There is very little public access in the unit and DIY hunters may struggle

With very limited public access there are few hunters headed to this Unit without a plan around hunting some private property.

A major portion of this unit is being utilized for dry ground farming. The only ground that seems to not be agriculture is mostly swamp or creek bottom. The amount of elevation change is minimal across the unit.

A mix of short and tall prairie grass for miles in all directions as well as countless species of wildflowers can be found in most areas of the unit that haven’t been turned for agricultural purposes. Very sparse timber which is primarily a mix of Cottonwood, American Elm, Green Ash, and Bur Oak can be found along the riparian zone of the little creeks and marsh within the unit.

Interstate 90 offers access to countless country roads covering the majority of the unit which makes navigating to one spot or the other very simple. There is very little public ground in this unit and without a solid plan on some private ground you will have a very difficult time locating areas to hunt.

Located along Interstate 90 is White Lake to the West and Plankinton to the East. Both of these small towns offer one or two places to lodge, being that there are so few places to stay within this unit plan ahead and get your rooms booked prior to arrival. If you are looking for a place to camp, there are very limited locations in the unit but there are a few established campgrounds in Plankinton.
