Oregon has a surprising amount of bear hunting opportunities and can produce large bears. All spring hunting permits are distributed through a controlled drawing while fallhunting licenses are sold over the counter. Bears can be found throughout the state although most hunters tend to favor the eastern half of the state.

The skull of any harvested bear must be presented to an ODFW office within 10 days of harvest
Baiting and hound hunting are both prohibited when hunting bears
