New Mexico gives hunters a good opportunity to harvest a mature Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep. Most of the hunting for bighorns takes place in very steep and physical terrain, so being in shape is highly recommended. Horseback and backpacking is recommended for success. Not known for giant rams like Alberta or Montana, but a solid choice for rams exceeding 170" Boone and Crockett.
