New Mexico has been rewriting the record books in recent years. For years the state issued tags for hunting in only one unit. In 2012, sheep numbers in other areas were open to hunting for the first time. Since, hunters have taken several rams exceeding 175” Boone and Crockett.

  • A court order in the spring of 2014 allowed the state to limit nonresidents to a percentage of sheep tags

    • No tags were offered to nonresidents in 2014
