Bighorn Sheep Tag | $120 | Unavailable |
Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep tags are currently restricted to resident hunters. Native in the Ruby Mountains, Rocky Mountain bighorns had nearly disappeared until animals were transplanted in the late 1980s. Numbers climbed until pneumonia caused massive die-offs in 1996-1997 and again in 2009-2010. Today sheep numbers and tag numbers are low.
** Boone and Crockett classifies Rocky Mountain Bighorns and California Bighorns under the same classification. Units below may include California Bighorns. Units listed below may not have a current hunt for this species. Units in this table are considered if any part of the unit is found within any part of the county.
