This large unit is found in the west central portion of the state and lies along the Wyoming state line. Excellent genetics and bulls are found in this unit, if hunters have access to land they are on. Public lands are a commodity here, but some options do exist. For the most part, most elk hunting will take place on private lands and because this is a once-in-a-lifetime harvest for residents, many lucky tag holders opt to hire outfitters to ensure private access.

Bulls can grow quite large in this area but the lack of public hunting opportunities can make things tough. Consider hiring an outfitter to ensure private access to lands holding elk.
