This massive unit is located in the north central portion of the state and is the eastern-most unit offered in the state for antelope. Decent populations of antelope are found here but the density of animals will decrease as you head east and be virtually existent in some areas. Decent pieces of public land can be found in antelope habitat.
Good hunting can be found here on public lands and hunters who are willing to put in the work can find success.
The northern and southern edges of the unit sees some agricultural activity but the majority of his unit is comprised of undeveloped lands that are reminiscent of sand hills country. Despite the greater variation in terrain outside of the ag areas, hunters will encounter minimal difficulty in navigating nearly all of this unit.
The majority of the this area is composed of rolling hills covered in prarie grasses and shrubs. Many pocket lake and ponds dot the landscape and provide marshy conditions in their vicinity.
Lodging options can be found in the form hotels, motels, and rental properties scattered throughout the unit. Additionally, some public campsites are available. Sporting goods can be found through the area with some of the best selections generally being found in the larger cities.
Roughly 8146 sq. miles
5% Public land
Private lands dominate most of the landscape, but a good collection of public lands are available. Sections of state owned lands can be found throughout the unit and there is alarge parcel of forest lands found in the southwest corner. There are several large chunks of land enrolled in the Open Fields And Waters Program but many of these are in thearea where densities are not as high.
