This district is commonly called Lower Rock Creek and is directly south of Interstate 90, just east of Missoula. The sheep are generally located on National Forest land until November when they come down for the rut. It is a mountainous area with numerous peaks and lots of pockets of timber.
Historically this district was known for having great rams, but the sheep are struggling in this district and are on the downward trend. The good news is there is still some good older age class rams, but little to no recruitment.
