On The Ground
This hunt district is located in south central Montana and is southwest of Harlowton and on the north and east side of the Crazy Mountains. Antelope are typically found on private land in this area and access is extremely difficult to gain. Most of ranches have large acreage in this district.
Antelope populations are very stable in this hunting district with a good buck-to-doe ratio. This district allows a person to apply for a second (B) tag for a doe or fawn only. The general tag is for either sex antelope.
Terrain
This district encompasses the base of the Crazy Mountains and the drainages flowing to the north and east into the Musselshell River. The creeks running through the unit have croplands adjacent to them, both dryland and irrigated. This district has a mix of broken terrain with scattered pines and cedars, along with areas of large grassy benches. The antelope habitat is easily maneuvered.

Vegetation
Most of the hunt district is grassland mixed with patches of pine, cedar and juniper. These are scattered throughout the area and are typically associated with the breaks. There are some areas where sagebrush can also be found on the rangeland. Most of the creeks have alfalfa fields adjacent to them. This area also has lots of miles of irrigation ditches and flood irrigated fields.
Access
This district has several good gravel county roads that allow access into the unit. Highway 191 is the east boundary and Highway 12 is on the north side of the unit. Antelope are usually found on private land and access to the private land is extremely difficult to obtain. Get permission prior to applying in this unit.
Camping and Lodging
Camping is available on the National Forest land up Cottonwood Creek. Harlowton has several motels, restaurants, gas stations and a sporting goods store.
