On The Ground
This hunt district is located in central Montana. A majority of the antelope reside on private land. There are some scattered state sections and some Block Management areas. Ranches are generally quite large in this area, and some do allow public hunting. Antelope are not found on the forested land on the north part of this unit.
Antelope populations have remained stable and there is a high buck to doe ratio in this district.
Terrain
This district has the Musselshell River on the south and the Little Belt Mountains on the north. The entire unit slopes to the south, the slope is relatively gentle throughout the unit. Between the river and the mountains are huge flat benches that run for miles with an occasional creek.

Vegetation
Most of the unit consists of short grass prairie. There are extensive wide open benches between the stream corridors. The creek bottoms and the Musselshell River valley have irrigated fields. There is some dryland winter wheat farming scattered throughout the unit.
Access
Highway 12 is on the south boundary and Highway 191 is the border on the east. Numerous gravel county roads are located in the unit.
Camping and Lodging
Harlowton is in the southeast corner of the district and has motels, gas stations, restaurants and a sporting goods store. Camping is allowed on the National Forest land in the Little Belt Mountains on the north side of the unit.
