On The Ground
This hunt district is located in south central Montana. It is north of Big Timber and on the eastern side of the Crazy Mountains. The antelope are typically found on private land in this area and access is extremely difficult. Most of the agriculture operations are smaller outfits, also making hunting more difficult.
Antelope populations are very stable in this hunting district. There is a respectable buck to doe ratio. The general tag is good for either sex antelope.
Terrain
This district is made up of mostly broken terrain with lots of coulees, ridges and scattered conifers. Some of the creeks running through the district have croplands, both dryland and irrigated. The western side of the unit butts right up to the Crazy Mountains, from here to the east the land slopes away from the mountain.

Vegetation
Most of the district is grassland mixed with patches of pine, cedar and juniper. Most of these pockets are scattered and associated with the breaks. There are areas where sagebrush can also be found on the rangeland. Most of the creeks have agriculture fields adjacent to them.
Access
This unit is easily accessed by good gravel county roads that run throughout the area. Highway 191 runs through the unit from north to south. Typically the antelope reside on private land and access to the private land is extremely difficult. Get permission prior to applying in this unit.
Camping and Lodging
There is a campground on National Forest land up Big Timber Canyon Road in the Crazy Mountains. Big Timber has several motels, restaurants and gas stations.
