On The Ground
Located between Greeley and Sterling this farmland is mixed with some very rugged terrain and supports herds of antelope, whitetail and mule deer. State lands does offer roughly 6,000 acres of access.
Antelope lead the way in the unit with a few mature bucks scattered across the unit. Bull elk are very rarely encountered.
Terrain
Wildcat Creek and Judson Hills along with many canyons and draws that feed into Wildcat Creek create a rugged landscape in the western portion of the unit. Pawnee Valley, Hills and Creek in the eastern portion create a more moderate terrain.

Vegetation
Irrigated by center pivots crops of corn, alfalfa and hay grow along the southern boundary. The rest of the agriculture is comprised of dryland wheat sections. There is prairie grass, yucca, silver sage and some cottonwoods near Wildcat Creek that run through the western part of the unit.
Access
Colorado Route 52 from Fort Morgan to Colorado Highway 14 splits the middle of the unit. Colorado Route 71 goes north from the town of Snyder to Colorado Highway 14. Colorado Highway 14 creates the northern boundary from Sterling to the town of Buckingham.
Camping and Lodging
Jackson Lake has 260 campsites and many are available year-round. There are RV campgrounds, motels, restaurants, gas and diesel and medical facilities in Fort Morgan, which is the closest town to the unit along Interstate 76. Greeley is west about 40 miles and offers many services that hunters might require.
