This unit borders Mexico at Douglas and stretches north about 70 miles. Desert mule deer, Coues deer and pronghorn antelope live on a mixture of public and private lands. Most of the terrain is flat, but some mountain ranges rise several thousand feet above the flatlands.

Private land and illegal immigration are issues that hunters must face. To hunt several areas, hunters should arrange for permission to hunt on or cross private property. Illegal immigrants and drug traffickers can make camping risky.
