This smaller unit is located in Southern Alaska along the Cook Inlet and is home to the Illiamna and Augustine Volcanoes. This unit is mostly remote and hunters will need to arrange travel options to and from the hunting areas. The town of Homer is just across the Cook Inlet and generally provides some of the best options. This unit is home to large tidal flats and breathtaking mountain ranges and can provide some excellent hunting opportunities for a multitude of species. The western end of the units tends to have slightly less terrain exaggeration and more muskegs and large river valleys while the north and eastern ends tend to see large, steep sweeping ridge lines and deep-cut river drainages.
