At a Glance
Area 124, known as Emblem, is located on the southern end of the Big Horn Basin in northwest Wyoming. This unit is close to the Bighorn Mountains which rise to the east, and also Cody which lies to the northwest a short distance. The broad, open landscape in this area holds mule deer, antelope, whitetail deer and a few random elk.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region X and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 121, 122, 123, 127
This area which is a part of Region X is a general tag and allows for the hunting of antlered deer, both mule deer and whitetails. The majority of access to whitetail habitat in Area 124 will be on private land, permission must be secured and will be difficult.
Quick Tips
- A GPS with land status map is recommended
- Snow chains, shovel and four wheel drive is preferred during rifle season
- High quality optics will be worth their weight in gold here
