On The Ground
The majority of the land in this area is managed either by the BLM or the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Plant. It is located in the Wassuk Range.
The sheep population in the unit is good. Antelope herd is marginal. Not a lot of local deer, hunters generally wait for migration. A few Boone and Crockett antelope have been harvested in this unit
Terrain
There is plenty of wide open country with broad valleys and numerous ranges from 6,000 to over 11,000 feet (Mount Grant).

Vegetation
The area is represented by classic Great Basin habitat consisting of sage and brushland at the lower elevations to pinyon/juniper forests at higher elevations with some aspen stands dispersed throughout the area.
Access
The majority of the area has unrestricted access. To hunt the Mount Grant area, which is only allowed for sheep hunting, you will need to contact the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Plant for access.

Camping and Lodging
Camping is allowed on all public lands. The city of Hawthorne has all the necessary accommodations including two nice trailer parks with all the hook ups.
