Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep exist in a small population in the Black Hills of western South Dakota. A very small handful of tags are made available each season in which all aredistributed through the drawing. Bighorn sheep licenses are available only to residents of South Dakota.
Trophy potential for sheep is great with several rams above the 180" mark being entered into record books recently including a massive 209' ram taken in 2018 that is the standingworld record ram taken by a hunter and is #3 on the all-time Boone and Crockett list.
