Ibex are found in the Florida Mountains in southern New Mexico, and hunting them can be challenging, rewarding and memorable. The mountains are unforgiving and are imposing even to physically fit hunters. Bowhunting is especially difficult. Billies often grow horns that are more than 36 inches long. Muzzleloader and archery tags are easier to draw than rifle tags, but hunters face long drawing odds no matter which ibex tag they want.
