Antelope in California are confined to 6 hunting zones in the northeastern corner of the state. There are huntable populations with good trophy potential in all of the zones. Permits are drawn through the state drawing and are fairly limited and hard to draw. There is relatively good public land access in all of the zones. There are both archery and rifle permits available, and both provide great hunts.

Hunters who don’t get their first-choice tag earn a preference point
Applicants must buy a hunting license
Resident hunting parties may apply together with up to 2 people
Where there is a quota of 4 or more permits, 75% of the permits are drawn to those applicants with the most bonus points and the remaining 25% will be drawn randomly. Where there is a quota of 3 or fewer permits, 1 permits will be drawn randomly.
There is only 1 nonresident permit per year
