The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) are in the middle of trying to solve yet another poaching case. This time, it involves a large nontypical mule deer that has been making the hunting convention circuit with a placard stating that the animal was harvested by Nate Strong of Wyoming.
While Game Warden Adam Hymas cannot comment specifically on the details of the investigation because it is ongoing, sportsmen who have attended the shows where the buck has been displayed have been discussing whether or not it was taken in the proper season, according to SweetwaterNOW. The buck was most recently displayed during the Hunt Expo in Salt Lake City, UT.
Wyoming game wardens always seem to have their hands full with illegal hunting activity and keep an updated inventory of closed cases here. Because Wyoming is home to so many big game animals, poachers also seem to gravitate to the state. If you have any information about this incident or any others, remember to contact WGFD to report any suspicious activity.
