Big addition to the Vortex riflescope line!

Every so often a new piece of hunting gear is built that just fits perfectly and solves a niche. Today, that product has finally been released. This new piece of gear is a riflescope made by Vortex and is their Razor HD LHT lineup. LHT stands for Light Hunter Tactical. Specifically, the model I'll be talking about here is their 3-15x42 version.
This riflescope is brand new to Vortex’s already impressive lineup of riflescopes. The new for 2020 Razor HD LHT is a true do-all-riflescope.

I was fortunate to have this riflescope in my hands since early February and already have a full month of use behind it. Instantly I mounted the scope, took it to the range, and that same day I was ringing steel at 630 yards. A few days later I was headed to Arizona and put the scope through some hard use on a cold and wet javelina hunt in Arizona. On the second day of the season, I was able to take a great boar in a complete downpour.
It’s also worth noting that this is a second focal plane riflescope.
My favorite feature on this riflescope is the locking elevation turret with their RevStop Zero System. This will be extremely valuable when I want to lock things down, and I’ll have the confidence to know that my turret didn’t magically spin while pushing through brush.
Also, the capped windage turret is a small feature but has huge benefits. This is another item I no longer have to worry about. I’m not the person who likes to dial for wind, and off the top of my head, I believe I have only dialed for wind on one animal I took way back in the day. This is another confidence booster knowing my windage is locked and set.
Sometimes it's the little things that matter the most. After I dialed my scope in, it was a breeze to drop in the zero stop ring. This is probably the simplest design I have used.
If you’ve ever hunted in thick timber, you’ll understand why an illuminated center dot is a great feature. The cool part about this scope’s illumination is it’s an easy to use push button on the parallax knob. You no longer have to look down and fumble with a different knob. You simply can just reach down and turn it on without thinking about it.
For starters, the 30 mm tube allows for some added strength, while at the same time isn't adding a ton of weight like bigger options. To me, I love a scope with lots of travel, and this riflescope has an amazing 80 MOA of travel!
Let’s face it, any hunt where you’re carrying around a heavy backpack for extended periods of time, you will notice the weight. The same can be said for carrying around a rifle. If you have a heavy rifle, it will start to wear on you.
For the weight-conscious mountain hunter, this scope checks all the boxes, and still only weighs in at 19.1 oz. When looking at the specs and design of the scope, there is nothing missing. So how did they pull off the weight? What they did to reduce the weight was to remove unnecessary features like giant exposed windage turrets, no bulky illumination knob, and a trimmed-down parallax knob. This scope is streamlined and built for business.
With Vortex's Razor HD glass included in this riflescope, you know you'll have a crisp view no matter the conditions.

When you want all the data, without the clutter, look to the new HSR-5i reticle. On my recent hunt in February, I really enjoyed the cleaned-up view of this reticle. It provided me with all the information I needed and allowed my full visibility.
Each scope comes with a coupon that you can send to Kenton Industries to customize your turret to your ballistics so the turret will now read in yards instead of MOA/MRAD. This was a big feature request, and Vortex delivered!
Overall, if you're considering purchasing a new riflescope this year, this Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x42 will not let you down!
From whitetails in the midwest, or chasing elk in the thick timber in the mountains, this scope has the features to get the job done and perform to the expectations you expect.
