Four mule deer were illegally killed in Owyhee County
“In each of these cases, they were all shot, left and had rotted. None of the meat was used,” said Conservation Officer Craig Mickelson. “Two of the cases involved big, mature bucks that were illegally shot during a two-point-only season, that could have been legally harvested in November by hunters who drew coveted controlled hunt tags.”
According to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), three of the poaching incidents occurred in Unit 40:

4 x 3 mule deer buck outfitted with a tracking collar was killed on Oct. 10 in the Turntable Mountain.
3 x 4 mule deer buck was shot on Flint Creek Road (near Deer Creek, approximately five miles west of Triangle) on Oct. 10. A dark blue Dodge diesel three-quarter ton truck (1997-2002) with three occupants may be linked to the case.
A mule deer doe was shot on Mudflat Road at Bill DeAlder Draw on Oct. 10.
4 x 4 nontypical mule deer buck was left to waste on private property near Grandview (Milepost 4 on Mudflat Road in an agricultural field) on Oct. 12.
