Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) found three nonresidents guilty of purchasing and using illegally obtained resident hunting licenses that resulted in the killing of two mule deer bucks and one whitetail buck in 2012 and 2013.

According to the Helena Independent Record, Ronald and Bernell Morris, both of Phoenix, Arizona, and Eric Oman of Portland, Oregon, were found guilty of the charges and are required to pay fines and restitution for the violations.

FWP officials report that Oman claimed that he lived in Plains and purchased resident licenses in Sanders and Lewis and Clark counties from 2005 to 2013 while he was a resident of Oregon. The Morris' also purchased resident licenses in Valley and Roosevelt counties while living in North Dakota and Arizona from 2008 to 2014.

Along with the resulting fines and restitution, all three will lose privileges to hunt, fish and trap in all states that are members of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact, which is an agreement between states that recognizes the suspension of hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses in member states. Oman will lose privileges for 26 months and pay $3,225 and $1,000 in restitution, Ronald Morris will lose privileges for 48 months and pay a fine of $6,745 and $500 in restitution, and Bernell Morris will lose privileges for 18 months and pay a fine of $1,050.
