I spent the last year looking for a quality bipod that was lightweight and easy to use that I could swap between my hunting rifles. There are some options out there, but the one I chose was the Gunwerks Elevate 2.0 bipod. The Elevate 2.0 bipod hits all the marks I was looking for and meets all my needs for a hunting bipod.
One part of the Gunwerks Elevate 2.0 bipod that I greatly appreciated is the bipod is super lightweight, coming in at a staggering 12 ounces. I almost forgot I had it on the rifle. It attaches to a picatinny rail on the rifle's forend using the NeoLok attachment that provides a simple quick-twist solution for attaching the bipod to your rifle. Press a button and twist the bipod 90 degrees, and it’s off. To put it on a rifle, ensure it lines up with the picatinny rail and twist it 90 degrees, and it securely locks in place.
I’m very impressed with the height and adjustability. The Gunwerks Elevate 2.0 bipod adjusts from 5” to 19” in seconds and has four leg splay positions. This gets you low to the ground when you need to shoot from the prone position or a tall barrier — whatever the situation is.
Or, if you need to be seated or kneeling to shoot off a ledge, the 19” position is comfortable and sturdy. Gunwerks uses two different sections on the bipod legs to achieve the large adjustable range. The first is a twist lock section that allows for independent, fine-tuned height adjustment, and the second is the 12-position spring-loaded inner leg that snaps to quickly secure a sturdy position. The deployment can be completed in seconds to get you set up for the shot on a big game animal, coyote or a steel target way off in the distance.
I found the Gunwerks Elevate 2.0 bipod to be lightweight and very easy to use. Deploying the legs out to a wide-splayed position or getting into the 19” taller stance was fast and easy. I used it in all types of positions, from the back of a truck bed to a shooting bench and even hanging off the side of a cliff. The Gunwerks Elevate 2.0 handles all situations well and will be on my rifles this hunting season.
If you are an Arca rail user, you may be in luck. Currently, the only model available is the picatinny rail version, but I have heard rumors the Arca-compatible Gunwerks Elevate 2.0 is on the way. Fingers crossed.
