This small unit is located in central Utah and just north of the town of Mt Pleasant. Decent elk numbers can be found here but locating herds of public land can be tough at times. Overall, glassing conditions are excellent in this area and hunters will find little trouble in covering ground.
Decent elk numbers can be found here but locating herds on public land can prove troublesome at times.
The low elevation area of this unit consists of rolling foothills with private farmland and lot of alfalfa fields. Some hunters can gain access to the private ground by simply asking the land owner for permission and paying a small trespass fee.
Low elevations have pinyon/juniper, sagebrush, oak brush, grasses and other browse. Water can be found in the high elevations with springs, small lakes and perennial streams.
Several roads criss cross through the unit and provide the best options for access. Private parcels make up a good portion of the land coverage and simply finding herds on huntable public lands will likely be one the largest hurdles for hunters.
Hunters can camp on the limited pieces of public land but can also find modern lodging options in Mt Pleasant.
